Dr Brent Moyle has recently been engaged in the EarthCheck office in Brisbane where he worked on a project focused on the Daisy Hill Recreation Precinct. The project brief included assessing recreation and commercial opportunities in the park, in addition to management over cross jurisdictional boundaries. Dr Moyle’s primary role on the project was to conduct a visitor experience audit of the Daisy Hill Koala Centre and engage stakeholders in the planning process.

Although the project is still currently underway, recent announcements by state government indicate that the Daisy Hill Koala Centre has secured funding for a significant upgrade to maintenance, existing interpretation, in addition to the integration of other innovative tourism experiences, such as a Koala Kindergarten.

This research has impacted both Koala conservation and tourism to the Logan Shire.

Ms Johanna Schliephack, is currently interning with GIFT to engage in the research environment and to undertake research associated with energy-water nexus.
