At the 15th of March 2016 China Brief, Professor CL Chiou a veteran in Taiwanese politics shared his perspectives on the Taiwan election held earlier this year.

Tsai Ing-Wen was elected Taiwan’s first female president after her Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) won a landslide victory on the 16th of January 2016. Professor CL Chiou addressed various aspects of the election, Tsai’s new plans for China-Taiwanese ‘transparent’ government, and the future of cross-strait relations.
