CHRISTOPH NEDOPIL WANG  |

As we come to the end of another busy year, I want to express my sincere thanks to our colleagues, friends and partners who have contributed to the ongoing success of Griffith Asia Institute. Since I arrived at GAI in August, I have continued to be amazed at the collaborative achievements across research, engagement, and knowledge exchange with our members and partners.

Throughout the year, GAI members together with our partners have researched some of the most pressing and impactful topics in the Asia-Pacific region and advanced technological and educational issues. We strengthened our efforts to make a positive impact across areas related to inclusive growth and rural development, international relations and peace, green transition and development. We celebrated great successes, from the new Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, funded by the Australian Research Council with the Griffith node led by Professor Sara Davies to another cohort of students currently completing their business internships in the region including the Pacific, South Korea and Japan.

Looking ahead, I am excited to tackle upcoming challenges and opportunities with our great team and our members and to work in close partnership with you to drive sustainable development impact in Asia Pacific through research excellence.

I wish you all a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year.

Christoph
