If you have online tutorials, or need to record a presentation these bookable spaces are a great option for a little bit of privacy. You are eligible for up to two hours a day and can book the spaces up to a month in advance.

Sensory Friendly Space at Nathan

The Nathan Library has recently debuted their new Sensory Friendly study space in building N53 room 1.51 which features adjustable lighting, individual desks, and sofas. The space is intended to be a quiet, distraction-free space that is open to anyone who could benefit from it.

Our favourite nooks

Nathan Library: If you find fresh air invigorating you should visit the outdoor courtyard (room 2.10A) at the Nathan library. This undercover outdoor space includes a large white board, large desks perfect for collaborative work and bushland views for those moments your mind wanders off while you study.

South Bank: These private powered study booths are perfect not only for a quiet study session but because they overlook Grey Street they’re also a great place to do a little people watching. There’s also a phone charging station near by.

Gold Coast: I think we can all agree that sunning yourself on these sofas by the window in the Gold Coast Collaboration Zone is the perfect way to get through your required readings this trimester.

Two sofas, a coffee table and an overhead lamp in a sunlit corner.

Logan: Study Room 4 is the largest of Logan Library’s bookable spaces. The fogged glass and green wall décor make it a great place to record video presentations, and there are plenty of wall ports, so your whole study group can keep powered up.

The Conservatorium: This sunny private nook hidden behind a corner is complete with sofa and beanbags. It’s the perfect place to warm yourself in the sun as winter chill sets in while you listen to some music.

Mount Gravatt: The basement is a great place for noisier collaborative work and if you’re lucky you might get to see some inspiring artwork left on the white board, like this in-depth study of the Shrek cinematic universe.
