Thursday 6 April, 10 am – 12 noon Publishing during your PhD 

Provides the requirements and guidelines for publishing as part of your PhD program. 

Wednesday 12 April, 10 am – 12 noon Introduction to data cleaning with Open Refine 

Data cleaning prepares raw or messy data and transforms or maps it into a structured and organised format to enable processing and analysis. Learn basic data cleaning techniques using open source tool OpenRefine in this hands-on workshop. 

Thursday 13 April, 10 am – 11 am Writing the methods and methodology section 

Gather strategies to write the methods and/or the methodology section in your work.    

Wednesday 19 April, 10 am – 12 noon Navigating the publishing maze for health & science early career researchers 

Attendees will benefit from the experience, advice and insight into publishing provided by a senior academic, followed by a Q and A. 

Wednesday 19 April, 12.30 pm – 1.30 pm EndNote Q&A 

Learn the basics of using EndNote. Work through the Library’s EndNote Basics Tutorial, then register to join the Endnote Q&A live virtual session. Bring your questions and get answers and tips from specialist librarians and other EndNote users. 

Wednesday 26 April, 12 noon – 1 pm Cracking open research 

Griffith was the first university in Australia to commit to an open research culture; a culture that puts values such as inclusivity, diversity, integrity and accessibility at the centre of the research process. In this webinar we will introduce open research, how it can help your research and its role in maximising research impact. 

Thursday 27 April, 1 pm – 2.30 pm Improving the tone and style of your academic writing 

Explore strategies to develop your writing skills in order to compose text that has appropriate tone and style, providing clarity for the reader.
