Before Trimester 1 starts, the Library will host a series of online Earlybird workshops for all Griffith students.

The workshops are an opportunity to start the Trimester on the right foot. Whether you’re a returning student who needs to brush up on your skills or a new student ready to learn, the Library is here to help!

The Earlybird workshops cover a variety of topics:

  • Exploring Online Resources at Griffith

Learn about the apps and systems that make up Griffith’s Online Learning Environment—how to access them, tips and tricks for using them and how to get help for each.

  • Study Skills at University

Learn study skills and strategies to help you maximise your time, minimise your stress and improve your experience and results.

  • Starting Assignments at University

Learn how to analyse your assignments and search the range of information resources available to you at Griffith University.

  • Writing at University

Learn how to build an argument, structure an essay and write in an academic style.

  • Referencing at University

Learn why referencing matters and how to avoid plagiarism by citing materials correctly in all academic work. You’ll be introduced to the Library’s Referencing guides and how to use them effectively.

How do I join a workshop?

Please register for the online workshops via the Library Workshops calendar, which can also be accessed from the Library’s Student orientation webpage. Once registered, your confirmation email will contain the link to the workshop.

Tip: Make sure to check your Junk folder if you don’t see the confirmation email in your inbox.

Earlybird workshop videos will be posted on the Student orientation webpage if you want to revisit the content or if you’re unable to attend.
