Did you know, in 2020 Griffith’s School of Nursing and Midwifery was ranked 1st in Australia and 2nd in the world on the Shanghai Global Rankings of Academic Subjects?  Our national and international reputation continues to grow.

So today, 5 May 2021we celebrate International Day of the Midwife (IDM). Midwives are essential health professionals who provide support, care and advice during pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period. The theme for this year’s IDM is ‘Follow the Data: Invest in Midwives’, which encourages increased advocacy for quality midwifery and coincides with the release of the 2021 State of the World’s Midwifery Report.

The Library acknowledges the valuable service that midwives provide as well as the essential knowledge and research being shared within the discipline of midwifery. Investing in midwives ensures safer and more effective experiences surrounding pregnancy, labour and newborn care.
