Starting Trimester 3? Here’s how the Library can help

Starting a new trimester is always a mix of excitement and “where do I even begin?”. Whether you’re stepping onto campus for the first time or returning and looking to find your rhythm again, the Library is here to help. Here are some of the ways we can support you this trimester.

Find and access resources

The Library homepage is the place to start. Use the Library catalogue to search for journal articles, books, conference papers, streaming video and audio, music scores and more. Our Library guides bring together the key resources for your subject area, so you can see what’s available in your discipline at a glance.

Build your study and assignment skills

Our self-help study and assignment skills resources help you develop your study and digital skills, find information, write assignments and prepare for exams. The referencing guides show you how to format your references correctly in the style your course requires.

Come along to a workshop

We run workshops throughout the year to help you study smarter. Whether you want to navigate online systems, improve your writing or refine your research skills, there’s a session for you. Topics include:

  • Introduction to researching
  • Understanding referencing
  • Writing at university.

You can find session times and register for upcoming workshops on our calendar. If you can’t make it, or you’d like to revisit the content, short versions of workshop videos are posted on the student orientation webpage.

Academic integrity matters

Academic integrity is about being honest in your learning and taking pride in producing work that’s genuinely your own. These skills help you succeed at university, and they build habits that will serve you throughout your career.

The Library offers two academic integrity modules:

  • Introduction to academic integrity is mandatory for commencing students. It takes around 15 minutes and covers the fundamentals of academic integrity and your responsibilities as a student. You’ll need to complete it by the end of your first trimester.
  • Extended academic integrity tutorial is optional. This 45-minute tutorial explores academic misconduct, how to avoid it and what happens when a breach occurs.

You can access both on the Academic integrity matters webpage.

We also have support for using generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) in your studies, with a focus on ethical and responsible practices in academic work and assessment.

Individual support

If you need a hand, you can contact the Library  or visit us on campus. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
