Showcasing student creativity: Pavilions for the Lawn exhibition
The Library is excited to host the Pavilions for the Lawn exhibition, showcasing design proposals by second-year Architecture and Urban Planning students.
Students were challenged to design a pavilion for the lawn outside the Gold Coast Campus Library. Working from a shared brief, site and set of digital tools, they developed remarkably diverse solutions, demonstrating the wide range of ideas that can emerge from a common starting point.
Presented in collaboration with Martin Ziarmal, from the School of Engineering and Built Environment, this exhibition highlights the creativity, innovation and design thinking of Griffith students.
The display was installed in time for Griffith Open Day on Sunday, 9 August, providing prospective students and their families with a glimpse of the exciting projects they could be involved in as future Griffith students. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase student achievement and the creative learning experiences available through the University’s Architecture, Construction and Urban Planning programs.
The exhibition also marks an exciting milestone for the Library, helping us achieve our short-term goal of launching our first exhibition in Trimester 2, 2026. Building on this success, we are already exploring opportunities to partner with other Schools and disciplines to bring more student and staff work into our Library spaces.
