Did you know that ‘almost half of Australians have a parent born overseas’? (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2022)
Since 1999, the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, also known as Harmony Day, is celebrated in Australia. As a part of Australia’s multicultural society, Griffith Library is committed to creating a sense of belonging for everyone, regardless of their background.
A core value of Griffith is to foster a sense of belonging and community. You can learn more about our commitment to social inclusion at the Griffith Centre Social Cultural Research webpage.
We also have a diversity of social and cultural research in our Griffith Research Online (GRO) repository. Here are just a few examples:
- Please Explain!’–public perception of students with diversity in mainstream education as voiced in Australian online news media
- Social inclusion, and the power of being ‘seen’ and ‘heard’
- Teacher education and teaching for diversity: a call to action
You can explore more social and cultural research content via GRO.
