Keep Australia Beautiful Week 2023

Keep Australia Beautiful Week is held each August to raise awareness about the simple things we can do in our daily lives to reduce our impact on the environment and encourage action to reduce waste.

What can I do to help:

Remember the 6 R’s

  • Reduce: what’s in your bin
  • Refuse: single use plastic, use BYO water bottle, coffee mug, shopping bag etc.
  • Rot: your organic waste. Use FOGO bins or compost for your garden.
  • Reduce: paper usage, use electronic statements and billing, use scrap paper etc.
  • Reuse Repurpose or Repair: fashion, electronics, toys etc.
  • Recycle: E-waste, batteries, light bulbs, foam, toiletries etc. Please remember E-waste bins are located at each campus library.

As part of Griffith University commitment to sustainability  it has developed a comprehensive waste and recycling initiative in order to minimise waste and landfill.
