Upcoming RED workshop highlight – 2 Day Writing Retreat
Join us at our 2-Day Writing Retreat to spend focused time on your writing in a supportive environment. You will have a space to write, networking opportunities with other HDR candidates during the catered meal breaks, and a chance to speak with Library staff about your writing.
The Writing Retreat will commence with a workshop facilitated by fellow HDR candidate, Oscar Toohey (School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science). This workshop will provide some writing tips and aims to ease you into a productive headspace to help you get the most out of the retreat.
FEEDBACK FROM PREVIOUS PARTICIPANTS:
‘I went in to gain momentum with my writing and be in an environment wherein people were getting on with their work and writing in particular. This is what I surely accomplished and also having a few moments of social interactions, meeting other PhD scholars from different campuses helped in feeling supported in this journey.’
‘The most useful thing [about the retreat] was the protected writing time, I was so much more productive in general. Having the sacred, quiet space, where everyone has a singular aim of being productive, was really motivating.’
This Writing Retreat will take place at the Logan campus on Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 October from 9am to 4pm each day.
Registrations close 5 October 2026, or sooner if capacity is reached at an earlier date.
