Words to Celebrate: Library Yarning Circles

National Reconciliation Week (27 May to 3 June) is a time to reflect on shared histories and consider how we each contribute to reconciliation. To mark this, join the Library at our lunchtime Words to Celebrate events, held in our yarning circle spaces where participants can engage in shared listening and storytelling. This year’s theme, All In, is a reminder that reconciliation happens through everyday actions and conversations.

At each session, you’ll hear readings from Words to Sing the World Alive: A Celebration of First Nations Languages, edited by Jasmin McGaughey, a powerful collection that celebrates the richness, strength and resilience of First Nations languages. Through listening and conversation, the yarning circle creates time to reflect and connect.

This Reconciliation Week, take a moment to listen, to language, to story and to one another.
