This interactive online course builds foundational knowledge and encourages reflection to support culturally inclusive learning, teaching and working environments.
What is Core Cultural Learning (Core)?
Core is a self‑paced online course developed by the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS). It strengthens understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and contemporary issues, supporting respectful engagement across diverse cultural contexts.
What does it cover?
Core includes 10 interactive modules, each taking about 45 minutes to complete. Together, they provide a strengths‑based introduction to:
- historical and contemporary perspectives
- self‑reflection and cultural identity
- respectful, informed intercultural engagement.
Each module includes interactive activities, reflection prompts and links to further resources.
