What’s academic integrity all about?

Academic integrity is about giving yourself the chance to learn honestly and confidently. When you approach your studies with honesty, fairness, respect, responsibility and courage, the work you submit becomes a true reflection of your own thinking.

These habits don’t just help you meet university expectations—they help you build the kind of professional credibility you’ll rely on long after graduation. Employers and professional bodies want to know your qualifications represent real skills and real effort, and acting with integrity is how you show that.

Getting started: Introduction to academic integrity

Griffith’s mandatory Introduction to Academic Integrity module is a great place to begin learning about what it means to study with integrity. It walks you through the essentials of ethical scholarship and helps you understand what’s expected in your assessments.

You can also explore a range of supportive resources through the Library, including:

  • self-paced tutorials
  • peer support
  • referencing guidance

These tools are provided to help you feel confident, supported, and ready to contribute to a strong academic and professional community.

Using generative AI in a thoughtful, transparent way

Generative AI can be a great study companion when used with care. Griffith’s AI guidance helps you understand:

  • how to use generative AI ethically
  • how to acknowledge generative AI contributions in your work
  • how to decide when generative AI is appropriate for an assessment.
