To celebrate Griffith’s 50th anniversary Griffith Archive’s is releasing two new online exhibitions this July. The first is Griffith Genesis: GUMURRII Student Success Unit, a brief history of the formation and early years of the GUMURRII Student Success Unit at Griffith.
The establishment of GUMURRII is linked to the creation of the Aboriginal and Islander Student Group (AISG) at the Mt Gravatt campus in 1983. A union between AISG and Nathan campus’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Unit (established in 1986) paved the way for today’s GUMURRII Student Success Unit.
