NAIDOC Week recognises and celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year, NAIDOC Week is held from 6 to 13 July and marks its 50-year milestone. The theme, ‘The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy’, recognises the achievements of the past and looks forward to the next generation who will shape the future.

The Library has partnered with Dr Ren Perkins, a proud Quandamooka man and lecturer in the School of Education and Professional Studies, to develop a curated reading list.  The Library Resources – NAIDOC Week 2025 reading list features works by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander authors, offering a glimpse into rich cultures, histories, and perspectives.

During NAIDOC Week, flag raising ceremonies are held as part of Griffith’s NAIDOC Week events. Ceremonies will be held at Logan and Gold Coast campuses and streamed online:

  • Logan ceremony: Wednesday 9 July, 9:15am, Entrance Court.
  • Gold Coast ceremony: Thursday 10 July, 10am, Student Centre (G33) lawn.
