We are excited to introduce two new RED (Researcher Education and Development) workshops designed to help you navigate the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in your research. These sessions will explore how AI can enhance your literature searches and improve your proofreading and editing skills while ensuring academic integrity.  

Workshop 1: Find and discover literature using AI tools 

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the effective use of Generative AI tools for conducting more efficient and comprehensive literature searches. Key topics include: 

  • an overview and demonstration of AI tools used for literature searching 
  • the benefits, risks, limitations and ethical considerations of using AI tools 
  • expert insights and practical tips on AI use from Dr Carys Chan, Senior Lecturer of the Griffith Business School. 

Workshop 2: Using AI for effective proofreading and editing 

This session focuses on the ethical and responsible use of Generative AI in proofreading and editing for academic writing, including: 

  • discovering editing and proofreading tools 
  • emphasising and maintaining academic integrity 
  • learning practical tips, prompts, and examples to enhance your copyediting skills.
