Griffith University hosts regular Repair Cafes across our campuses, offering students and staff the opportunity to both share their repair skills and have their own items fixed. By participating, you can save money, reduce waste, help others and contribute to a more sustainable future!

How does it work?

You can get involved by volunteering as a fixer, joining a dedicated group of students, staff, and community members who share their fixer skills.

Helpful fixer skills include:

  • sewing and mending
  • jewellery repairs
  • woodwork
  • mechanical and electronic device repairs.

If you don’t have fixer skills, don’t worry. You can still contribute by volunteering as a helper, assisting with event coordination and support.

How do I get involved?

To volunteer as a fixer or helper, please fill out the Repair Cafe volunteer form

If you have an item in need of repair, bring it along to one of our Repair Cafes. Repairs are free of charge, and you’ll also have the chance to learn about the Australian Repair Network.
