Uni is an exciting yet challenging journey, especially when you’re juggling your coursework, socialising, and your wellbeing. One key ingredient to making it all work? Respect. In the Library, respect is essential for creating an environment where everyone can do their best. Here’s how to make the most of your time, and help others do the same.
Respect study spaces
The Library has a variety of study spaces, whether you’re studying alone or collaborating in groups. Keeping quiet in silent spaces is key to maintaining a peaceful atmosphere. If you’re in a group or need to discuss assignments, use the social spaces or bookable spaces set aside for that purpose. Remember, everyone studies differently, and being considerate of others helps create a productive environment for all.
Build your study network
Studying alone can be isolating, but you don’t have to do it alone! Build an informal study group with your classmates or join an existing mentoring program. By collaborating, you can share ideas, test each other’s understanding, and look at problems from different angles. Plus, studying in a group fosters a sense of community and belonging, which can make your uni experience much more enjoyable.
Make the most of all the Library has to offer!
The Library offers so much more than just a place to study! Take full advantage of all that’s available. We have library guides, physical and online resources, workshops, study and assignment skills modules and so much more, including specialist staff that can provide individual support if you ever feel you need some personalised help on your study journey.
Let’s all help make the Library a place where everyone feels respected, because when we do, we all succeed! If you want to find out more, contact the Library. We’re always here to help!
