As the pressure of exams increases during the year, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by expectations and deadlines. Amongst this whirlwind, it’s vital to prioritise your wellbeing. Here are a few things to try:

  • Acknowledge stress: Feeling overwhelmed is normal. Recognise your emotions and remember, seeking support is a sign of strength.
  • Prioritise self-care: Make sure to prioritise self-care alongside your study sessions. Get sufficient rest, nourish yourself with good food, and don’t forget to take regular short breaks to recharge.
  • Break it down: Break down study material into smaller, more manageable chunks. Tackle one concept at a time and incorporate regular breaks.
  • Practice mindfulness: Find balance during times of study pressure by incorporating mindfulness practices. Dedicate moments to deep breathing exercises or meditation to alleviate stress levels.
  • Reach out for support: You’re not alone. Lean on friends, family, or classmates for support. Utilise support services if needed.
  • Celebrate progress: Take time to acknowledge your achievements, no matter how small. Each step forward is worth celebrating.
