Which workshops are being offered? 

1 Nov: External Research Datasets  

Is an exploratory session for researchers on AURIN, ABS, ADA, and other major virtual data labs and portals. Discover large, interdisciplinary, layered datasets to support research. 

2 Nov: Lime Survey Q and A  

Learn how to use LimeSurvey at Griffith to create and format a research survey, including how to activate your survey. 

3 Nov: Writing the Literature Review  

Discover tips and strategies to help you prepare, plan and structure your writing to deliver a logical and coherent literature review. 

8 Nov: Improving the tone and style of your academic writing  

Gather strategies to develop your academic writing skills and compose text that has academic tone, style and clarity for the reader. 

9 Nov: Introduction to REDCap at Griffith  

Learn how to build and deploy projects in REDCap (REsearch Data CAPture), one of Griffith’s supported research survey tools. See how REDCap compares with LimeSurvey, Griffith’s other supported survey solution. 

9 Nov: Copyright, Publishing and Open Access Considerations Q and A  

Participants are asked to view a series of videos before the session, that examine copyright, publishing and open access considerations across all research disciplines. In this one hour session, the Information Policy Officer will answer questions and respond to comments from participants. 

17 Nov: Data Storytelling  

This session is for researchers to learn how to use the data, visuals and narrative to bring together the story of their research. 

24 Nov: EndNote for Systematic Style Reviews and PRISMA  

Learn to use EndNote features that facilitate systematic review processes during the stages of research gathering and screening of research literature, while supporting PRISMA reporting standards. It incorporates software demonstration with theoretical guidelines. 

29 Nov: Publishing during your PhD  

On completion of this workshop participants should be able to identify official HDR publishing requirements, including using publications in your thesis, copyright considerations, thesis structure requirements. Also become aware of support and training services available throughout your candidature.
