Peer-reviewed journal articles and scholarly books are important sources of academic information for assignments, but you can also use content from the quality videos held in the Library’s video streaming databases like Kanopy and Alexander Street. These databases contain thousands of streaming documentaries, feature films, music and theatre performances, as well as tutorials on a variety of topics. Most videos in these databases provide transcripts which can be keyword searched to help you find content relevant to your assignment topic. Transcripts allow you to reference and quote text directly from the video into your assignment. You can consult our Referencing guides to learn how to reference a video or transcript according to your course’s specific referencing style. 

To access the video transcripts, look for the transcript button when viewing a video—check out the examples below.
