Griffith University was founded to offer our students a unique university experience. Our founders’ vision was formed by progressive ideas such as offering interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary courses, taking care of our environment, and building strong relationships with our Asian neighbours.

Our effort to forge close ties with Asia began in the early 1970’s. This effort was recognised in 1973 when Griffith University became the first Australian university invited by China to specifically establish research and student exchange agreements with Chinese universities.

You can read more about Our Asian Agenda and this pioneering work along with a number of other interesting exhibitions at the Griffith Archive website.
