Griffith’s Digital Campus is the university’s third largest, with over 20,000 students completing at least one online course, and over 11,000 studying fully online. To help academic staff prepare to be part of this fast-growing area of teaching, Griffith Online is offering the Teach Online series of short courses for Griffith staff:

Enrolment is free to all staff including sessionals, and is open any time. Staff can opt to complete the short quiz at the end of each course to gain a certificate – a valuable addition to their professional portfolio.

Each course is designed to be completed in around 4 hours. Enrolment is ongoing, so participants can complete courses at a time that works best for them.

Griffith Online holds “facilitation weeks”, when experienced educational designers will be involved in online discussion and webinars for each course. While there is no obligation for participants to be involved during these weeks, they might like to work together with colleagues during the facilitation weeks to apply their learning to planning for Trimester 2. Facilitation weeks will commence:

  • Design Matters – commencing Monday 29 April
  • Assessment Matters – commencing Monday 5 May
  • Conversation Matters – commencing Monday 12 May

Enrolment is via the Teach Online page.
