Our partners at PebblePad have kindly put together a list of conferences that are relevant to those of us in the PebblePad / ePortfolio community. Here are some they key ones in our Australasia region…

ANZAHPE
The conference for the Australian & New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators (ANZAHPE). The Conference’s mixture of invited speakers, in-depth educational offerings, and important delegate opportunities for contribution and discussion, make it a “must attend” event for all in the health professional educators’ community.
The next conference will be held in Hobart, Tasmania in July 2018. The theme of the meeting is Sustainability for Health Professions Education.

For those of you in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics, our very own Dr Lana Mitchell will be presenting at the Dietitians Association of Australia conference in May.  Her paper is titled “The use of ePortfolios for competency development and self-reflection“.

Eportfolios Australia – Eportfolio Forum (Hosted by Griffith this year!)
ePortfolios Australia is a professional network which aims to support the use of e-portfolios in Australia and beyond through professional development activities and the sharing of resources, ideas and practice. Held in Sept/Oct annually, the Eportfolio forum is a collegiate gathering of a welcoming community of portfolio practitioners.
The next Eportfolio forum will be held at Griffith University in October 2018.

ACEN
The Australian Collaborative Education Network Limited (ACEN) is the professional association for practitioners and researchers from the tertiary education sector, industry, community and government representatives, involved in work integrated learning (WIL) in Australia. ACEN provides strategic leadership for work-integrated learning research, scholarship, and practice in Australia, for its members and other stakeholders.
The next conference will be held in Brisbane from the 3-5th of October 2018.

ASCILITE
Australasian Society for Computers in Learning in Tertiary Education (ASCILITE) is a globally recognized and professionally connected community of professionals and academics working in fields associated with enhancing learning and teaching through the pedagogical use of technologies. We seek to shape the future of tertiary education, particularly through enabling and sharing high-quality research, innovation and evidence-based technology-enhanced practices in tertiary education.
The next conference will be held at Deakin University’s Waterfront Campus Geelong, Victoria, from 25 – 28 November 2018.

PebbleBash 2018 (Hosted in Australia this year!)
Held biennially, our next PebbleBash will be held in December 2018, at the delightful Grange Cleveland Winery in Melbourne, Australia. The theme of this year’s conference is scaling-up, though many of you may prefer to think of this in terms of moving to the next level. Our intention is to reflect the growing maturity of practice with portfolios, portfolio-inspired learning and teaching, and the platforms that support these approaches. We have observed that the institutions and organisations we work with are grappling with a growing list of challenges to which technologies like ours seem to provide an effective answer – especially when deployed thoughtfully and at scale.

The website for PebbleBash 2018 is now live – you can register interest, or submit a paper (due 29th March).

Don’t forget to keep an eye out for details about the PebblePad component of Griffith’s 2018 Celebrating Teaching program. Dates and events will be promoted via the LF Press blog as they are locked in.
