The Learning Futures Create Your Own (CYO) Video Studios have been operating for a little over three years now, and are available for use by any Griffith staff member to make video resources for learning and teaching purposes. By working closely with our community of users and listening to feedback, we have been able to offer new studios and new features tailored to the community’s needs. Over the years, the studios have evolved to become much more than just a room with a green screen.
The CYO Video Studios are a do-it-yourself video facility that enables Griffith staff to create high quality video resources. Even if you have little to no video experience, by following the studio steps numbered from 1 to 8, you will come out the other end with a professional video you can use on your course site or wherever you share resources with your students. We have worked hard to make the process as simple as possible, so that all you need to bring to the studio is your presentation content (e.g. PowerPoint slideshow) on a USB stick.
Starting from Thursday February 28, you will also be able to create your learning and teaching video resources at Logan Campus. Learning Futures has constructed a new studio in Academic 2 (L08), with space provided by the Griffith Business School. This means there is now a CYO Video Studio at every campus!
We will be doing a number of training sessions at the new Logan CYO Video Studio from 9.00 am on Thursday 28 February, so if you are interested in using these new facilities and would like to attend a training session, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to book a session.
At the same time, we will also be launching a new studio at Nathan campus. Situated right next door to the current studio in Patience Thoms (N06), this new studio will help us manage the peak times when educators may find it hard to book a session to get videos created in time for teaching periods.
If you are interested in attending a training session at your campus, or if you have any questions about the Create Your Own (CYO) Video Studios, please get in touch with us via email: email@example.com. You can also find more information and helpful resources about the studios in the CYO Studio entry on Explore Learning and Teaching (ExLNT).
We’ll be sharing more information about both of these new studios over the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
