Two new majors have been added to the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) program, with mechatronics at the Nathan campus and software engineering at the Gold Coast campus.
Mechatronics (Nathan): The Nathan campus offers specialisation in electronics, microelectronics, avionics and microelectromechanical systems. Mechanical engineering commenced on this campus in 2019. Mechatronics (or robotics as it used to be called) fits between electronics and mechanical and is currently an area in which there is significant interest from prospective students.
Software engineering (Gold Coast): All except two of the courses in the Nathan based Software Engineering major are already offered on the Gold Coast campus. By offering this new major, students are given an additional choice of majors on the Gold Coast campus.
