Griffith English Language Institute (GELI) recently celebrated the success of students who completed the highest level of the Direct Entry Program (DEP) at the DEP 7.1 Graduation in May.

GELI offers students two opportunities to achieve the English language requirement for direct entry to Griffith University degree programs commencing in both Trimester 1 and Trimester 2, and one for Trimester 3, by successfully completing the highest level of the Direct Entry Program (DEP).

Students not only meet the English proficiency level but gain a head start for their degree studies through the development of academic literacy skills and by forming a peer support network.

Griffith International acknowledges excellent performance in DEP by awarding a $1000 Direct Entry Program (DEP) Scholarship to the highest performing DEP student in each cohort who is progressing to a Griffith undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree.

Congratulations to the following DEP Scholarship winners:

· Varisara Chuanpraphan, Thailand, Master of Information Technology

· Eliana Sofia Martinez Collazos, Colombia, Master of Marketing/Master of International Business

Varisara Chuanpraphan, Thailand, Master of Information Technology

Varisara studied at GELI Gold Coast campus for 10 weeks and was a conscientious, quiet achiever who demonstrated academic excellence throughout her studies. Varisara set herself clear goals and worked towards them with determination and dedication. Along the way she was a great example of how to work individually and as an effective team member in a culturally diverse environment, which will benefit her in her Master of Information Technology. Congratulations to Varisara on achieving the highest grade in her cohort and earning the DEP Scholarship.

Sofia receiving her award from Kim Comerford, Manager International Admissions

Sofia had already been in Brisbane for more than a year when she decided to pursue her dream of studying at an English-speaking university. Originally from a small town in Colombia, she always had an ambition to broaden her horizons and see more of the world. Sofia studied at GELI Nathan campus for 10 weeks, completing the Direct Entry Program as the DEP Scholarship winner, and will commence Master of Marketing/Master of International Business.

We look forward to seeing these students as they join us on campus at Griffith University in Trimester 2, 2023.
