Our students got off to a great start in Trimester 1, 2022 with the recent removal of the mask mandates and borders opening for international travel.

O-Week was quite a unique experience, and you could feel the vibrant campus life filled with diversity returning to our campuses.

Here’s a few highlights from the week’s events!

Rooftop Roller Disco and Dive in Movie Nights

One of the major events our students participated in was the Dive In Movie Night at our Aquatic Centre on campus, where students could sit back and relax on a pool ring, grab some free popcorn and soft drink and enjoy a free movie on the big screen.

Our Rooftop Roller Disco was also very popular, with free entry, DJ tunes, skate hire, carnival games and candy floss.

O-Week Festival Day

O-Week festival was a vibrant day, with each campus filled with stalls, free giveaways, club sign-ons, games, free food, campus tours and more! Plus, students could pick up their free O-Week bag with some student supplies.

Student experience from a third year international student

Our Griffith Mate, Chau Pham from Vietnam, wrote a blog about her O-Week experience when she first started at Griffith University three years ago, and about why she was looking forward to this O-Week in particular.

This upcoming O-Week at Griffith is so special for students and volunteers as well, because it will be the first O-Week welcoming international students back on-campus, since the Australian borders opened to eligible international students in January, 2022. The Student Guild, What’s On at Griffith and the Griffith Mates teams have come up with amazing events this year, including Welcome Booths, free O-Week bags, campus tours and more. There are variety of events that are running both online and on-campus.
