Over 60 students successfully completed the Direct Entry Program (DEP) at Griffith English Language Institute (GELI) to achieve entry into their Griffith University or Griffith College program for Trimester 2 2021.
Griffith International acknowledges excellent performance in DEP by awarding a $1000 Direct Entry Program (DEP) Scholarship, and we congratulate the following winners. Both students studied for 10 weeks in their home countries via GELI’s virtual classroom.
Jessilia Jay JAUANDA, Indonesia, Master of Advanced Health Services Management
While Jessilia was surprised to achieve the highest overall mark for her cohort, her teachers were not surprised when the winner of the Direct Entry Program Scholarship was announced. Of all the students, she had been the most consistent in improving her English skills. As a ‘quiet achiever’, Jessilia worked well with other students in the class and also helped others. At the same time, she always completed all assigned work, responded well to written and spoken advice and instructions, and put in the hard work to improve her English and academic skills.
Yuichiro NAKAHIRA, Japan, Bachelor of Computer Science
Yuichiro impressed his teachers throughout the Direct Entry Program. His high academic performance was driven by a work ethic that was second to none. Despite having undertaken no prior study at tertiary level, Yuichiro quickly developed an understanding of the need for critical thinking, academic integrity and referencing. In addition to improving his linguistic and academic skills, Yuichiro also grew personally and enhanced his team work skills, which will serve him well in his future studies.
