A number of programs have been updated for the new year. Please find a summary of these changes below:

New program: Bachelor of Science (Honours)

This new program commences at the Nathan and Gold Coast campuses in 2020.

This honours program is designed to provide research training for students from the School of Environment and Science who have completed the requirements of a bachelor degree. The degree consists of research training and completion of a research project in the School of Environment and Science. The degree will be assessed by coursework, research project performance, thesis and seminar.

New program: Bachelor of Sport Development/Bachelor of Business

This is a four-year, 320 credit point (AQF 7) program to commence on the Gold Coast campus in 2020.

Students will gain a strong foundation in the academic and applied aspects of community sport, health, fitness and business skills. The program includes studies in: human anatomy and physiology; health, physical activity, exercise and health promotion; performance analysis, fitness training and coaching; psychology, communication, business and management. The program builds upon Griffith’s strong reputation in sports science, sports management and education and will be delivered by our highly-qualified staff  in world-class facilities.

New major for Master of Professional Engineering (Gold Coast): mechanical engineering

A new major has been added to the Master of Professional Engineering at the Gold Coast campus. Adding the mechanical engineering major will increase the number of options, making the program attractive to a greater number of students.

New double degree available: Bachelor of Aviation/Bachelor of Information Technology

This double degree is available from 2020 at the Nathan campus. It is a 5 year equivalent degree delivered over 4 years, and includes some core Trimester 3 courses.

This degree combines specialist information technology knowledge with aviation. Students will develop their information technology practical skills and theory whilst also studying aviation.

New Program: Master of Catchment Science

The Master of Catchment Science has been developed to meet the training needs of the water management sector. With this degree, students develop an understanding of catchment chemical, micro-biological, ecological, hydrological and morphological processes, determinants and interrelationships across a range of scales.

Master of Speech Pathology fully accredited by Speech Pathology Australia

The Master of Speech Pathology has received full accreditation by Speech Pathology Australia.  Upon completion of the Master of Speech Pathology program, students will be eligible for professional membership to practice as a fully accredited Speech Pathologist in Australia.
