Leading vocational education and training expert from the Griffith Institute for Educational Research, Professor Stephen Billett, has been awarded an Honorary Research Fellowship at the University of Oxford.
Professor Billett will be based at the Department of Education where he will work on a collaborative study about professional competencies. He said,
This project focuses on understanding the kinds of capacities required for professional work and how they can be assessed and certified for initial occupational preparation as well as into the future. These issues are of growing importance to professional groups and professionals.
