Professor Stephen Billett was invited to brief the Queensland Parliament’s Employment, Education and Training Committee in its inquiry into vocational education and training in rural, regional and remote Queensland. Honorary Doctorate Award: Professor Peter Grootenboer

In 2020, Professor Peter Grootenboer (long term member of GIER) was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the Gothenburg University, Sweden.
