Dr Stephanie Fahey, CEO, Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) spoke at the 14 November 2019, Perspectives:Asia talk.

With the global trade environment continuing to change quickly, Dr Fahey addressed the unique opportunities for Australian businesses in nearby countries. The rise of Indonesia, the growth of India’s middle-class, China’s demand for new technology and Japan’s modernising investment strategies all presenting opportunities for Australian industries – particularly those pursuing bold, innovative business solutions that meet the needs of these trade partners.

Dr Fahey is Austrade’s first female chief executive, Stephanie was previously EY’s lead partner for education in the Oceania region, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Global Engagement) at Monash University and Director of the University of Sydney’s Research Institute for Asia and the Pacific. Dr Fahey has over 30 years’ experience both as an academic and executive working in Australia and overseas, brings an international perspective to her work and a wealth of experience across business and academia.
